How often do brakes need to be serviced?

The vehicle brake system is one of the most important safety features that allow one to slow down or bring the vehicle to a complete stop when it’s needed. But just like any other part of the car, brakes require regular maintenance and replacement so that you are confident about the brake system every time you sit behind the wheel.

Several components make up the brake system, and all of them are extremely necessary. But due to heavy usage, all of them wear out over time, which is exactly when a replacement would be needed for the brake pads.

Brake pads are known to apply friction to the routers, which causes them to slow down and eventually stop the wheels from rotating completely. Due to the weight of the car’s high temperatures online, please start school through a lot of stress and then become thinner after driving for thousands of miles.

When to service your brakes?

Certain guidelines depend on the manufacturer for the brake pad replacement. However, the general idea is that one should get the past replaced somewhere between 30,000 to 35,000 miles. But there are certainly other factors that either extend or shorten the life of the brake pads.

Following other factors that affect how long the brake pads will last and what you should keep in mind.

1. The Brake Pad Material:

The brake pads are made up of three main types of materials, organic metal, and ceramic. There are pros and cons for each of these that affect the brake pads’ performance and longevity.

Ceramic brake pads are great for people who must make hard stops especially driving in high traffic areas. They produce less dirt compared to organic brake pads and have a longer life span.

Organic brake pads, known as non-asbestos organic brake pads, are comparatively softer and do not make loud noises like the other types. However, they do wear out faster than metallic or ceramic brake pads.

Metallic brake pads are made of iron, copper, steel, and graphite. They are extremely durable, and I used them in most model vehicles. However, they are quite heavy, which means that they can affect the car’s fuel economy.

2. Highway Driving Vs. City:

Among other factors that affect your brake pads’ longevity, your driving route is one of them. Driving in the city means that you have more stoplights, and the roads are more likely to be congested. On the other hand, if you drive on highways that involve lesser traffic and fewer stops, it reduces the need to engage your brakes.

3. Driving Style:

A few drivers tend to use the brakes more often than necessary and aggressive drivers like that can stop the car abruptly, leading to the brake pads wearing down faster. To make sure that your brake pads last longer, you should gently use the brakes.

What to Bring to the Dealership when Buying a Car

When you buy or lease a car here at Wyatt Johnson Toyota, we work hard to make your experience as efficient and stress-free as possible. In order to have a successful visit and drive home in a car you love, we need you to bring in the proper documentation. This allows the experts in our finance department to complete the legal paperwork and officially sign the car over to you. Keep reading to learn what to bring to a car dealership when buying or leasing a car and what’s needed if you’re trading in.

What Documents Do You Need to Buy a Car?

1. Your Driver’s License

Your license confirms your identity, but it also shows us that you can legally drive the car you’re acquiring.

2. Proof of Insurance

Car insurance is required by law in Tennessee (unless you fulfill the requirements that allow you to legally go without insurance — this involves a hefty payout and isn’t a common situation). We’ll need to see proof that you’re covered by insurance in order to sell you a vehicle.

3. Proof of Income

Please bring paystubs from your current job or any other proof of employment or income. These documents show that you’ll be able to make the payments on your vehicle if you finance it.

4. Proof of Residency

A utility bill or bank statement can work as proof of residency — it simply needs to have your name and address on it.

5. College or Military Documentation (If Applicable)

If you’re eligible for a college or military rebate, you’ll need to bring the proper documentation to prove your status. Visit our pages on the Toyota College Rebate or Military Rebate to learn more.

6. Payment Method

You’ll need a way to pay for the vehicle, whether you’re making a down payment or you’re paying in full. This can be a credit or debit card, a check, or a money order.

7. Loan Information (If Applicable)

If you have a loan from a third party (in other words, you’re not financing your vehicle through our dealership), you’ll need to bring loan documentation with you to our finance department.

8. Credit Score

Though not technically required, it’s helpful for you to be aware of your credit score before you visit us. If you finance your vehicle at our dealership, our finance team will run a check on your score to ensure your creditworthiness. However, having this information in mind while shopping will help inform your decision.

What Do You Need to Lease a Car?

The documents needed to lease a car are the same as those required for buying, except for the loan information. It’s helpful to have your credit score in mind for leasing as well.

What Do I Need to Trade in My Car?

If you’re trading in your current car for a new one, bring all of the documents listed above along with the following items.

1. Vehicle Title

The title proves that you’re the owner of the car and have the legal right to trade it to our dealership.

2. Vehicle Registration

We’ll need proof of the vehicle’s registration in order to transfer it out of your name, even if the registration has expired.

3. Keys

Don’t forget to bring in all copies of the car keys when you trade in.

4. Service Records

Finally, if you have access to the car’s service records, please bring them with you. Not sure where to find service information? Search your car’s VIN on CARFAX to see what service records are listed for your vehicle.

2021 Toyota Camry

Irrespective of the angle from which you look at it on the outside, the 2021 Toyota Camry looks gorgeous. It has got several sharp curves which help it display confident body language. People who prefer comfortable and stylish family sedans should choose the car. It holds its ground in a world which is being increasingly swamped by crossovers and SUV’s.

Trims Available:

Toyota offers five variants of the 2021 Camry. These are:

  • LE
  • SE
  • XLE
  • XSE
  • TRD

A base L model was being offer earlier, which has been scrapped now and the lineup starts with the LE trim. The 2018 model of the Camry has been tremendously refreshed and is now available in 2021.

Exterior Appearance:

At first glance, the 2021 Toyota Camry may look identical to the 2020 model, but a closer look will reveal the difference. Changes have been made to the lower bumper to bring out the bold looking grill (LE and XLE). LED headlights and LED daytime running lights are standard. The front fascia of the sportier SE and XSE has been redesigned as well. Fog lights are not available on none of the trims. LED combination taillights are partially smoked on top (LE).

In terms of design, the new 2021 Toyota Camry is unique and tremendously different from all designs created in the past. Clearly it seems to be clamoring for attention from every corner.

Engine Specifications:

The LE gets a 2.5 liter, 4-cylinder engine with 203 hp of power and 184 lbs.-ft of torque. Those who want more power can always upgrade to a 3.5 liter V6 engine that produces 301 hp of power and 267 lbs.-ft of torque. Finally, there is a hybrid option too- the 2.5 liter engine here generates 176 hp of power and 163 lbs.-ft of torque. All engines are mated to a CVT (Continuously Variable Transmission). The engine is relatively throaty when pushed hard.

Interior Appearance:

The second row of seats in the Camry is comfortable, with a decent amount of Legroom and headroom. Trunk space available in this vehicle stands at 15.1 cubic feet. In terms of infotainment, a floating infotainment screen of either 7 inches or 9 inches is on offer. Wi-Fi connectivity, Apple CarPlay, and Android Auto are standard features on the LE. The Camry hybrid’s battery has been shifted from the trunk to beneath the rear seats, thereby liberating space. The base LE trim does not get navigation. Air conditioning on the LE is the same as before, and it does not get automatic climate control.

While going up from a lower variant to a higher one, the difference in quality of materials is high. Sport SofTex®-trimmed front seats are available on the SE. The steering wheel gets leather trims here. Going up to the SE, three drive models are available- ECO, Normal, and Sport.
