Why Spring Is the Perfect Time for a Vehicle Inspection

As the weather warms and winter finally loosens its grip, there’s no better moment to give your car the attention it deserves. Spring brings ideal conditions for a thorough checkup, making it the perfect season to schedule a vehicle inspection in Clarksville, TN. Whether you’re preparing for road trips, improving safety, or simply keeping your vehicle in top shape, a spring inspection ensures your car is ready for the months ahead. Before you get started, take a look at the latest service specials to make your visit even more convenient. more Key Points Here are three clear, concise bullet points that capture the main ideas of the blog post: Spring is the ideal time for a vehicle inspection in Clarksville, TN because winter conditions can cause hidden wear, and a seasonal checkup helps catch small issues before they become expensive repairs. A spring multi‑point inspection, oil change, and tire evaluation ensure your vehicle is safe, efficient, and ready for warmer weather and upcoming travel. Using a trusted service center for your vehicle service inspection near you provides expert guidance, convenient scheduling, and peace of mind as you prepare your car for the months ahead. A Fresh Start After Winter Winter can be tough on your vehicle. Cold temperatures, road salt, and icy conditions all contribute to wear and tear that isn’t always visible. That’s why spring is the ideal time to follow a Spring car maintenance checklist and address any issues that may have developed over the colder months. A seasonal inspection helps identify small problems before they turn into costly repairs, ensuring your vehicle stays reliable and efficient. Why a Multi‑Point Inspection Matters One of the most valuable services you can schedule in spring is a multi‑point inspection, which is a comprehensive evaluation of your vehicle’s most important systems. Technicians check components such as brakes, tires, fluids, belts, hoses, and more. This gives you a clear picture of your car’s overall health and highlights anything that needs attention. A spring multi‑point inspection is especially helpful because it catches winter‑related wear early before summer heat puts additional stress on your vehicle. How Often Should You Change Your Oil While the answer varies depending on your vehicle and driving habits, many cars benefit from an oil change every 5,000 to 7,500 miles. Fresh oil keeps your engine running smoothly, improves efficiency, and extends the life of your vehicle. If you’re due for service, you can easily schedule an appointment through the oil change service page or combine your oil change with a full inspection for maximum convenience. Tire Care for the Season Ahead Your tires play a major role in safety and performance, and spring is the perfect time to check their condition. Winter can cause pressure fluctuations and uneven wear, so inspecting tread depth, alignment, and inflation is essential. If you need replacements or want to explore your options, the tire center offers a wide selection to keep you confident on the road. Convenient, Professional Service Near You When searching for a vehicle service inspection near you, choosing a trusted service center ensures your car receives expert care. Certified technicians can walk you through your inspection results, recommend necessary services, and help you prioritize what needs attention now versus later. Spring is also a popular time for maintenance, so scheduling early is a smart move. You can book your visit quickly through the online service scheduler. Get Your Vehicle Ready for Spring Today Spring is the perfect season to refresh your vehicle and prepare it for the road ahead. From oil changes and tire checks to multi‑point inspections and seasonal maintenance, taking care of your car now ensures smoother, safer driving all year long. If you’re ready to schedule a vehicle inspection in Clarksville, TN, explore our current service specials and book your appointment today. Your vehicle and peace of mind will thank you.

Toyota RAV4 vs. Honda CR-V: Compact SUV Comparison

The compact SUV segment is packed with strong contenders, but two models consistently rise to the top: the Toyota RAV4 and the Honda CR‑V. While both offer comfort, capability, and efficiency, the RAV4 stands out with its broader powertrain options, rugged styling, and long‑term dependability. If you’re looking for a Toyota RAV4 for sale in Clarksville, we’ve got you covered. You can visit our dealership to explore the latest trims and features in person. more Key Points The Toyota RAV4 stands out with stronger performance, more powertrain choices, including hybrid and plug‑in hybrid options, and better overall versatility compared to the Honda CR‑V. Both SUVs offer comfortable interiors and modern tech, but the RAV4 leans toward a rugged, adventure‑ready feel while also delivering competitive fuel efficiency and Toyota’s trusted reliability. The CR‑V provides slightly more cargo space, yet the RAV4’s practical features, standard Toyota Safety Sense™ suite, and long‑term dependability make it the more well‑rounded choice for many drivers. Performance and Powertrain Options One of the biggest advantages of the Toyota RAV4 is its diverse powertrain lineup. The standard 2.5‑liter 4‑cylinder engine delivers around 203 horsepower, giving the RAV4 a more energetic feel compared to the CR‑V’s 190‑horsepower turbocharged engine. The RAV4’s eight‑speed automatic transmission also provides smooth, responsive shifts that enhance everyday driving. The CR‑V offers two powertrain options: a 1.5‑liter turbocharged engine and a hybrid setup that pairs a 2.0‑liter engine with electric motors for a combined 204 horsepower. While the hybrid CR‑V is efficient, it still doesn’t match the RAV4 Prime’s power or electric‑only driving capability. The RAV4 goes even further with hybrid and plug‑in hybrid options. The Toyota RAV4 plug-in hybrid, known as the RAV4 Prime, offers an impressive combination of electric driving capability and strong acceleration, producing up to 302 horsepower—far more than anything in the CR‑V lineup. Fuel Efficiency Drivers who prioritize efficiency will appreciate the strong Toyota RAV4 mpg ratings. The gas model typically achieves up to an EPA‑estimated 27 mpg city and 35 mpg highway, while the hybrid version boosts those numbers even higher. The CR‑V Hybrid is also efficient, offering up to an EPA‑estimated 43 mpg city and 36 mpg highway. While the CR‑V Hybrid has a slight edge in city driving, the RAV4 Hybrid balances efficiency with noticeably stronger performance and more powertrain flexibility, giving it a more well‑rounded advantage. Interior Comfort and Technology Inside, both SUVs offer comfortable seating, modern technology, and high‑quality materials. However, the RAV4’s interior stands out because it blends durability with refinement—something the CR‑V doesn’t fully match. The RAV4 uses rugged textures, rubberized surfaces, and sturdy controls designed for active lifestyles, while still offering upscale touches like available SofTex® seating and a premium JBL® audio system. The CR‑V’s interior is clean and simple, but its softer, more minimalist design doesn’t feel as adventure‑ready or as durable for families, pets, or outdoor gear. Toyota’s infotainment system includes a user‑friendly touchscreen, smartphone integration, and available upgrades that enhance everyday convenience. Both models offer generous passenger space, but the RAV4’s more robust cabin materials and practical layout make it better suited for long‑term wear and tear. Cargo Space and Versatility When comparing Honda CR-V vs Toyota RAV4, cargo space is often a deciding factor. The CR‑V offers slightly more maximum cargo room, but the RAV4’s wide rear opening, adjustable cargo deck, and available hands‑free liftgate make loading and unloading easier. Toyota’s thoughtful interior storage solutions also help maximize everyday practicality. Safety and Reliability Both SUVs come equipped with advanced driver‑assistance features, but Toyota’s Safety Sense™ suite is standard across all trims, offering features like adaptive cruise control, lane‑tracing assist, and road‑sign recognition. The CR‑V also includes Honda Sensing®, which provides similar features, but Toyota’s long‑standing reputation for reliability gives the RAV4 an edge for long‑term ownership confidence. Specs Overview Toyota RAV4 Engine: 2.5L 4‑cylinder (203 hp) Transmission: 8‑speed automatic Drivetrain: FWD or AWD Fuel Economy: Up to 27/35 mpg (city/highway) Hybrid & Plug‑In Hybrid Options: Yes Max Horsepower (Prime): 302 hp Honda CR‑V Engine: 1.5L turbo 4‑cylinder (190 hp) Transmission: CVT Drivetrain: FWD or AWD Fuel Economy: Up to 28/34 mpg (city/highway) Hybrid Option: Yes Max Horsepower: 204 hp (hybrid) Value and Shopping Options If you’re exploring Toyota RAV4 for sale in Clarksville, you’ll find a wide range of trims and powertrains to match your lifestyle. You can also browse current offers by checking out our dealership’s new specials to see how you can save on your next SUV. Why the RAV4 Delivers More for Your Drive While both the RAV4 and CR‑V are strong choices, the RAV4’s superior powertrain options, rugged styling, and long‑term reliability make it the more versatile and future‑ready SUV. When you’re ready to experience it firsthand, you can schedule a test drive or explore financing options at our finance center.

Toyota Tacoma vs. Ford F-150: Which Truck Fits Your Lifestyle?

Shopping for a new truck often comes down to two of the most trusted names in the segment: the Toyota Tacoma and the Ford F‑150. Both models deliver strength, capability, and long‑term dependability, but they serve different types of drivers. Before comparing the two, you can explore local options for the Toyota Tacoma in Clarksville, TN to get a feel for what this midsize favorite offers. more Key Points The Ford F‑150 delivers full‑size power, larger cabin space, and heavy‑duty capability, while the Toyota Tacoma focuses on midsize versatility, maneuverability, and off‑road performance. Interior preferences differ, with the F‑150 offering more spacious, premium options and the Tacoma emphasizing durability and adventure‑ready functionality. The best choice depends on lifestyle needs: the F‑150 suits drivers requiring maximum towing and hauling strength, while the Tacoma appeals to those wanting reliability, agility, and everyday practicality. Power and Performance Performance is one of the biggest differences between the Tacoma and the F‑150. The Ford F‑150, as a full‑size truck, offers a wide range of engines—from efficient V6 options to powerful V8 and hybrid configurations. This makes it a strong choice for drivers who need maximum towing strength, heavy‑duty hauling, or work‑focused capability. The Toyota Tacoma, on the other hand, is built for versatility and everyday practicality. Its available engines balance efficiency with off‑road‑ready performance, making it a favorite among adventure‑focused drivers. What is the Towing Capacity of a Toyota Tacoma? The answer depends on the configuration. The Toyota Tacoma towing capacity is designed to support weekend towing, small trailers, and recreational gear, making it ideal for drivers who want capability without the bulk of a full‑size truck. Size and Everyday Usability One of the biggest distinctions between these two trucks is size. The Ford F‑150’s larger footprint provides more cabin space, bed options, and payload capacity. This makes it a strong fit for contractors, families who need extra room, or anyone who regularly hauls large loads. The Toyota Tacoma’s midsize design offers easier maneuverability, better parking convenience, and a more agile feel on narrow roads or trails. For many drivers, this balance of capability and practicality is exactly what they need. Whether navigating city streets or exploring off‑road terrain, the Tacoma’s size makes it approachable and confidence‑inspiring. Interior Comfort and Technology Inside the cabin, both trucks offer modern features, but they cater to different preferences. The Toyota Tacoma interior is designed with durability and functionality in mind, offering intuitive controls, supportive seating, and available upgrades like premium audio systems and advanced driver‑assistance features. It’s built to handle both daily driving and rugged adventures. The Ford F‑150, being a full‑size truck, offers more expansive cabin layouts, including available luxury‑level trims with upscale materials and advanced technology. Drivers who prioritize maximum interior space or premium comfort may gravitate toward the F‑150, while those who prefer a practical, adventure‑ready cabin often appreciate the Tacoma’s design. Capability and Versatility The Ford F‑150 excels in heavy‑duty capability, making it the go‑to choice for large towing jobs, commercial use, or demanding workloads. Its wide range of configurations allows buyers to tailor the truck to their exact needs. The Toyota Tacoma shines in off‑road performance and everyday versatility. With available off‑road‑focused trims, durable construction, and a reputation for long‑term reliability, it’s a top pick for outdoor enthusiasts. Where are Toyota Tacomas Made? The Toyota Tacoma is primarily manufactured in Mexico, with production taking place at Toyota’s plants in Baja California and Guanajuato. These facilities build Tacomas for the North American market, following Toyota’s global quality standards to ensure durability, reliability, and performance drivers expect from the midsize pickup. Value and Ownership Experience Both trucks offer strong resale value, but the Tacoma is especially known for its long‑term dependability and low cost of ownership. The F‑150 provides excellent value through its wide range of trims and powertrains, giving buyers flexibility in pricing and capability. Shoppers comparing the two should explore our current Toyota incentives for additional savings on top Toyota models. Finding the Right Balance of Power and Practicality Choosing between the Toyota Tacoma and Ford F‑150 ultimately comes down to your lifestyle. If you need maximum towing strength, expansive interior space, and full‑size capability, the F‑150 may be the better fit. If you prefer maneuverability, off‑road confidence, and long‑term reliability in a midsize package, the Tacoma stands out as a top contender. To explore your options in person, you can review dealership availability through the Wyatt Johnson Toyota hours page and take the next step toward finding the perfect truck for your needs.

Why You Should Check Your Tires Before the First Frost

As the crisp air of autumn begins to settle in, it’s easy to get swept up in seasonal festivities and forget about one of the most critical aspects of vehicle safety—your tires. Before the first frost hits, taking a few minutes to inspect your tires can make all the difference in how your car handles icy roads, sudden temperature drops, and unpredictable weather. It’s not just about safety—it’s about performance, longevity, and peace of mind. If you're unsure where to start, check out these service specials and coupons to make tire care more affordable. Why Frost Changes Everything When temperatures dip below freezing, tire rubber becomes less flexible, reducing traction. This is especially dangerous if your tires are already worn or improperly inflated. Frost can also lead to black ice, which is nearly invisible and extremely slippery. Having tires with good tread and proper pressure is your first line of defense. Start with a Car Maintenance Checklist Before winter sets in, your car maintenance checklist should include: Checking tire tread depth Inspecting for cracks or bulges Verifying tire pressure (cold weather lowers PSI) Rotating tires if needed Ensuring proper alignment These steps help ensure your tires are ready to grip the road when conditions get slick. If you’re not comfortable doing this yourself, searching for a tire shop near me can connect you with professionals who’ll do it right. What Are the Signs That My Tires Need to Be Replaced? If you notice uneven wear, shallow tread (less than 2/32 of an inch), or visible damage like cuts or bulges, it’s time to replace your tires. Vibrations while driving or poor handling in wet conditions are also red flags. Don’t wait until you’re sliding through an intersection to realize your tires aren’t up to the task. How Often Should I Change My Tires? Most experts recommend changing tires every 6 years, regardless of mileage, and sooner if tread wear is significant. However, driving habits, climate, and road conditions can shorten that timeline. Regular inspections—especially before winter—can help you stay ahead of problems. What’s the Difference Between All-Season, Winter, and Summer Tires? Understanding tire types can help you make smarter seasonal choices: All-season tires: Designed for moderate climates, they offer balanced performance but may struggle in extreme cold. Winter tires: Made with softer rubber and deeper tread, they excel in snow and ice. Summer tires: Optimized for warm weather, they provide excellent grip but harden in cold temperatures. If you live in an area with harsh winters, switching to winter tires before the first frost is a smart move. You can find the right fit using Toyota Genuine Parts for quality and compatibility. Schedule Your Tire Check Today The first frost is a wake-up call, not a deadline. Being proactive can save you from costly repairs, dangerous driving conditions, and unnecessary stress. Whether you’re due for a tire rotation, replacement, or just a quick inspection, schedule service before the cold sets in. Still have questions? Reach out through our contact page and let our experts guide you through winter readiness. Your tires are the only part of your car that touches the road—make sure they’re ready for what’s ahead.

Celebrating Student Success: 17th Annual Pass & Go Event at Wyatt Johnson Toyota

On August 2, 2025, Wyatt Johnson Toyota proudly hosted the 17th Annual Pass & Go Event in partnership with the CMC Education Foundation. Held at our dealership in Clarksville, TN, this year’s celebration was the biggest yet, with over 1,124 Clarksville School District high school students in attendance. Pass & Go has become a cherished community tradition, highlighting the hard work of students who excel on their Advanced Placement (AP) exams. Each year, students are recognized not just for their academic achievement but for the dedication and perseverance that will carry them into bright futures. more How Pass & Go Works For every AP exam a student passes, they receive one ticket to enter the Pass & Go giveaway. This year, hundreds of students and families arrived bright and early, excited to participate in the event. To kick things off, we hosted a scavenger hunt throughout the dealership. Students and families explored the lot, completing fun tasks such as finding the price of an oil change or snapping a photo inside their favorite Toyota vehicle. After finishing the scavenger hunt, students could turn in their cards and claim a piece of Toyota swag - a small but memorable keepsake from a day of fun and recognition. Once everyone was checked in, the real excitement began with a prize drawing. Students had the chance to win: Zaxby’s gift cards Exxon gift cards courtesy of Beach Oil Company Laptops and iPads sponsored by Google and Jostens The energy in the room was electric as winners were called, each prize bringing cheers from students, parents, and teachers alike. The Grand Finale: A Toyota Corolla Giveaway The highlight of the event came when 10 lucky students were chosen from the drawing to move on to the Toyota Corolla giveaway. Each finalist picked a car key, one of which would start a brand-new Toyota Corolla sitting on our lot. Noah Thompson, a senior at Montgomery Central High School, was the second student to try his key – and this year’s winner. As soon as the car roared to life, Noah jumped up in celebration, throwing his arms in the air. “I’m shaking,” he said. “I don’t even know what to do.” Noah’s reaction was pure joy, a reminder of why this event is so meaningful to our community. To make sure no one left disappointed, Wyatt Johnson Toyota gifted laptops to the remaining nine finalists, ensuring every student who made it to the finale left with something valuable to support their academic journey. Why We Do It At Wyatt Johnson Automotive, our mission extends beyond selling cars; we believe in investing in the future of our community. Earlier this year, we were honored to partner with the Clarksville-Montgomery County Education Foundation and the Clarksville-Montgomery County School System to present teachers with a District Teacher of the Year award. Education is the foundation of growth, and recognizing teachers and students who work hard and achieve academically is one way we give back. For 17 years, Pass & Go has stood as a symbol of our commitment to students and families in Clarksville and Montgomery County. This event is about more than just prizes. It’s about celebrating effort, achievement, and potential. “To see the expression on Noah’s face was exciting; it was priceless,” said Brian Burkeen, Wyatt Johnson General Manager. “We had no idea when we started this 17 years ago that we’d still be in this program. We are proud to be a part of this event annually; it is one of our favorite events.” Our Partners in Celebration Pass & Go would not be possible without the incredible support of our partners and sponsors: CMC Education Foundation Zaxby’s Beach Oil Company Google Jostens CDE Lightband Together, we created an unforgettable day for students and families, reinforcing that hard work pays off and that the community is behind them every step of the way. Looking Ahead The 17th Annual Pass & Go was our biggest and most successful community event in Clarksville yet, but we know it’s only the beginning. As more students take on the challenge of AP exams, we look forward to celebrating even greater numbers of achievers in the years to come. At Wyatt Johnson Toyota, we’re honored to play a role in these students’ stories. Whether it’s through a gift card, a laptop, or even the keys to a brand-new Toyota Corolla, Pass & Go is about giving back in a way that matters. Congratulations once again to Noah Thompson and to every student who worked hard and earned a spot at this year’s celebration. Here’s to continuing a tradition of excellence and community pride.
