2021 Toyota C-HR Vs 2021 Nissan Kicks

The 2021 Toyota C-HR and the 2021 Nissan Kicks would have surely piqued the interests of all those seeking a tiny urban crossover. Both Japanese manufacturers produce capable vehicles, with Toyota’s reputation for dependability being stronger. The Kicks, on the other hand, outperform the other by providing more space and better mileage. Let’s compare the two below:

1) Cargo Room- Expect to find a lesser room at the back of the C-HR in comparison to the Kicks. The Toyota C-HR has 19.1 cubic feet of space, but those planning to carry more cargo should get the Nissan Kicks, with 25.3 cubic feet of cargo room. Both vehicles can accommodate up to 5 adults, but the Nissan has a more comfy back seat than the Toyota.

2) Drivetrains- Despite being crossovers, neither of these vehicles comes with All-Wheel Drive (AWD). The typical drivetrain choice for both is FWD (Front-Wheel Drive).

3) Fuel Economy- The 2021 Nissan Kicks gets greater gas mileage than the 2021 Toyota C-HR. The Kicks have a combined mileage of 33 MPG, whereas the C-HR has a combined mileage of 29 MPG.

4) Warranty- The following are the basic and powertrain warranties offered by both compact urban crossovers:

Vehicle Basic Warranty Powertrain Warranty

2021 Toyota C-HR 3 years /36,000 miles 5 years /60,000 miles

2021 Nissan Kicks 3 years /36,000 miles 5 years /60,000 miles

5) Underneath the Hood- The CH-R is powered by a 2.0-liter inline-4 engine that generates 144 hp of power and 139 lb-ft of torque, linked to a CVT (Continuously Variable Transmission). Compared to this, the 1.6-liter inline-4, mated to a CVT on the Kicks, produces 122 hp of power and 114 lb-ft of torque. The C-HR is more nimble and has superior steering reactivity than the Kicks.

6) New in 2021- While the Nissan Kicks’ front and rear appearance has been modified, the Toyota C-HR has seen significant modifications in terms of active safety systems. The latter is now available in a brand-new Nightshade trim. This trim features blacked-out exteriors and new black 18-inch wheels.

7) Trims – The 2021 Nissan Kicks can be purchased in three different trim levels: SR, SV, and S. Similarly, the Toyota C-HR is available in four trim levels for 2021: Nightshade, SLE, LE, and  Limited.

8) Resale Value- Many consumers purchase vehicles with an eye toward how much they will be able to resell them for in the future; not everyone buys with their hearts. The C-HR commands a higher resale price because of its market reputation for durability and reliability.

9) Safety Features- The 2021 Toyota C-HR comes in a variety of trim levels, each with its own set of safety features. The following items are included as standard equipment:

a. Lane Centering

b. Adaptive Cruise Control
